NSW Oncology Group: Bone and Soft Tissue Sarcoma

Professor of Surgery, Prince of Wales Hospital
After graduating in medicine from Sydney University, Professor Crowe completed a PhD in surgery at University of Oxford before moving to Toronto, Canada where he finished advanced training in General Surgery. Post Fellowship training included two years in Surgical Oncology and surgical endocrinology, firstly in Cape Town then at Prince of Wales. Since 1992, he has been a consultant surgeon, specialising in General Surgical Oncology, at Prince of Wales Hospital.
In 1998-99 Professor Crowe was visiting consultant at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, Calgary, Canada in the Department of Surgical Oncology. His major surgical interests are sarcoma, breast and endocrine surgery. Phil has published widely on subjects such as prognostic factors in soft tissue sarcoma, colorectal cancer, thyroid surgery, breast cancer treatment, as well as on surgical education.
