Head of Department, Colorectal Surgery, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital
Tony Eyers graduated from Sydney University in 1972. He trained in General Surgery at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney and then in Colorectal Surgery in London and New York before taking up a position at RPAH as a Visiting Colorectal Surgeon in 1986, where he is now the Head of Department, Colorectal Surgery. He is a foundation member of the Sydney Colorectal Surgical Society and the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand. As well as his experience as a clinically active surgeon, Dr Eyers has sat in committee on a large number of health-care delivery projects at local, state and federal level. He is an elected member of the NSW State Committee of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He currently chairs the Clinical Ethics Committee of the Sydney South West Area Health Service.
