NSWOG Haematology began meeting in October 2005, with key focus areas including clinical trial participation and research. The Group was originally chaired by Professor Ken Bradstock, and is now governed by Dr Campbell Tiley, Haematologist, Gosford Hospital.

NSWOG Haematology Oncology Allied Health Education Day - 10 September 2009
Allied health professionals form an integral part of a multidisciplinary approach to the management of patients with haematological malignancies. The aim of the NSWOG Haematology Oncology Allied Health Education Day was to provide an educational opportunity for allied health professionals to update their knowledge of haematological cancer.

NSWOG Priority Project: Infrastructure support for clinical trials in haematological malignancies in NSW
In 2007, the Cancer Institute NSW supported a project defined by each invited NSWOG as the priority activity to improving cancer care and control in their clinical area. The selected project was supported by the NSWOG membership, aligned to the Terms of Reference of the Group.
The NSWOG Haematology Oncology priority project was to provide infrastructure support for clinical trials in haematological malignancies in NSW. This project was identified by the NSWOG Haematology Oncology membership as the key priority area for the tumour type and was implemented through the Cancer Institute NSW Field Officer model. The project aimed to improve the participation rates of patients in clinical trials in haematological malignancies, with an emphasis on national investigator-initiated studies.

NSWOG Haematology Cancer Draft Minimum Data Set Extension
NSWOG Haematology Oncology identified succinct dataset extensions as statewide standards to complement the core dataset with additional measures and indicators specific to tumour streams.
