Funding Opportunities

Funding opportuntites within the Cancer Services and Education Division of the Cancer Institute NSW for 2008 have now closed. The 2009 Grants Schedule is currently under revision. Further details regarding each grant type will be uploaded to the web site as they are announced.

Cancer Institute NSW Registrar Program 2009

The Cancer Institute NSW Registrar Program 2009 PDF document. Adobe Acrobat required. will fund salary expenses for 12 months in 2009 for up to five additional advanced trainee positions in oncology including radiation oncology, medical oncology, haematology, cancer surgery, pathology and palliative care.  These additional positions will build rural/ metropolitan partnerships across health services in NSW or provide outreach services into NSW from the ACT.

NSW Area Health Service institutions are invited to submit an application addressing the eligibility and selection criteria detailed in the Cancer Institute NSW Registrar Program 2009 Guidelines PDF document. Adobe Acrobat required..

Applications should identify strategically placed registrar positions which are accredited and additional to current advanced trainee positions to work in identified areas of cancer service need including rural sites.  Only applications that address the selection criteria detailed in the Guidelines will be considered. 

Joint applications are sought from administering institutions and Senior Cancer Clinicians (supervisor) addressing the eligibility and selection criteria detailed in the Guidelines.  Applications must reflect the objectives of the Program and provide evidence, as detailed in the Guidelines, of the capacity of the Senior Cancer Clinician, administering institution and the registrar (where identified at the time of application) to manage the training program successfully. Evidence of accreditation of the proposed position by the relevant College is essential.  The Executive Director of the administering institution and Director of Area Cancer Services must endorse the application.

Proposals must be submitted by 5.00 pm Friday 18 April 2008.

Health Services Innovation Grant Program - Round 2

Many innovative service delivery projects are currently being undertaken by cancer service providers in both the private and public sectors across the NSW health system.

The Health Services Innovation Grant Program PDF document. Adobe Acrobat required. is being run by the Cancer Institute NSW for the second year with funding available from July 2008. The Program aims to harness and build on innovative service delivery initiatives. Under this program, pilot projects will be identified and developed to improve cancer service delivery in NSW.

Expressions of Interest PDF document. Adobe Acrobat required. for the Health Services Innovation Grant Program Round 2 are invited from public and private cancer service providers in NSW. Applications must be submitted by COB Friday 15 February 2008.
