Travel Grants 2008

In 2008, the Cancer Institute NSW will be continuing to support the ongoing professional development of cancer health professionals from NSW working in community or acute healthcare settings in both the Public and Private sectors. Adobe Acrobat required. have been established to enable medical registrars in training, cancer nurses, clinical trials nurses, data managers, cancer nurse coordinators, social workers, psychologists, radiation therapists, medical physicists, Cancer Institute NSW Clinical Fellows and other health professionals working in the area of cancer services (e.g. cancer genetic counsellors) across NSW to attend national or international conferences and seminars related to cancer management and supportive care. Research personnel are not eligible for these grants.

Funds will support registration, return economy airfares (when required) and reasonable accommodation expenses to attend the conference. At no point may a recipient or associated institution use the funds for any other purpose. Eligible applicants may choose from recognised conferences listed on the Cancer Institute NSW web site Conference Diary. Other relevant conferences or seminars will be considered through the application process.

The candidate must complete the 2008 Travel Grant Application Form Word document. Microsoft Word required. following the 2008 Travel Grant Guidelines. PDF document. Adobe Acrobat required. Applications must be submitted by the next scheduled evaluation date and eight weeks prior to the conference for administration purposes. The Travel Grants Review Panel will assess all applications. Only applicants that meet the required criteria will be considered. Applicants are advised to read all documents for adherence and completion in full before submitting.

Applicants will be advised of receipt of their application following the close date. Each will also be advised by letter of the outcome of the review shortly following the evaluation. Evaluation meeting dates for 2008 are listed below. Please ensure applications to attend conferences are made well in advance of the conference date to allow for processing. Requests for additional funding to grants awarded will not be accepted by the Cancer Institute NSW should circumstances change.

Travel grant recipients are all required to submit a completed 2008 Travel Grant Report Form Word document. Microsoft Office Word required. within 28 days of their return.
