This free education day is open to all health professionals who care for adolescents and young adults with cancer. Experts in the field will explore a range of topics including communication skills, health literacy, consent and legal issues as well as ethical dilemmas in this age group.

This event is part of the Sydney Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Service Education Series sponsored by the Sydney Adolescents and Young Adult Cancer Service (Prince of Wales Hospital and the Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick), the Cancer Institute NSW and CanTeen.

Nine hundred adolescent and young adult (AYA) patients are diagnosed with cancer in Australia each year and a third of these patients are diagnosed and treated in NSW. AYA patients have specific medical and psychosocial needs and this education series covers some of the issues as well as current AYA research taking place in Australia. The days will be relevant to any healthcare professional working with this patient group and we invite you to attend all the series, or individual days.
