Cancer Institute NSW CEO and Chief Cancer Officer, Professor David Currow, yesterday launched eviQEd, with the first of a series of training courses designed to standardise and implement best practice in cancer care for NSW health professionals.

the eviQEd antineoplastic drug administration course was unveiled at The Cancer Nurses Society of Australia's 14th Winter Conference 2011 held in Darling Harbour, Sydney.

eviQEd is designed to work in conjunction with eviQ, the Cancer Institute NSW's online systyem for point-of-care cancer treatments, and blends online eLearning with workshops, clinical workplace activities and competence assessment to guide skill development in the safe handling and administration of chemotherapy drugs to patients with cancer.

This is the first course offered by eviQEd, with further modules currently under development for nurses new to cancer care.

The eviQEd antineoplastic drug administration course supports national cancer nursing initiatives such as EdCaN and Cancer Learning and contributes to CDP points through endorsement by the Royal College of Nursing.
