There are a number of organisations across NSW that can provide you with additional information about cancer, or guide you towards what support services and clinical trials are available to you.

Cancer Council NSW Cancer Helpline

If immediate help or advice about cancer is needed, please call the Cancer Helpline on 131120 (Monday - Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm).

The Cancer Helpline is a free confidential service provided by the Cancer Council NSW. All calls are charged at a local rate and are confidential. Cancer nurses provide assistance to people with cancer, their family and friends. The Cancer Helpline will put people in touch with helpful services available in their local area.

Cancer Voices NSW

Cancer Voices NSW is the peak coalition for NSW cancer consumer groups.

Their primary aim is to represent the needs and interests of people affected by cancer in our state and beyond, working in partnership with decision-makers to improve cancer diagnosis, information, treatment, research, support and care.

eviQ patient information database

eviQ is an innovative online diagnostic and education tool developed by the Cancer Institute NSW.

It is an internationally recognised online resource that provides evidence-based cancer treatment information to help health professionals identify the best course of cancer treatment and care for their patient's needs.

eviQ also provides patients and carers with information about cancer treatments such as

  • chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments
  • managing side effects
  • useful websites

Australian Cancer Trials

This is the most comprehensive database of cancer clinical trials currently underway in Australia. If you have cancer and are considering taking part in a trial to test a new treatment this website provides easy access to the very latest information about what clinical trials are available to you.

Planning Ahead Tools

This new website, developed by the Department of Attorney General and Justice, includes practical information about Wills, Powers of Attorney, Enduring Guardianship and Advanced Care Planning. The comprehensive site will help cancer patients and their families plan ahead for the future, and guide health professionals with information and resources to support their decisions.
