Early detection of cancer can lead to significantly improved outcomes for patients. Cancer Institute NSW manages a number of early detection screening programs that help to identify cancer in its early stages.


These programs operate statewide.

If you are in the targeted age-groups for any of these cancers it is important that you participate in regular screening.

Cervical cancer

The Cancer Institute NSW manages the NSW Cervical Screening Program under the National Cervical Screening Program. All women between the ages of 18 and 70 years and who have ever had sexual intercourse should have a Pap test every two years... more >
