The people of New South Wales have the right to expect that staff of the Cancer Institute Division demonstrate fairness, integrity and sound professional and ethical practice at all times in every respect of their employment. Just as importantly, we all have the right to a workplace free of any form of bullying, harassment or unfair discrimination.

Ensuring these rights requires a professional standard of behaviour that demonstrates respect for the rights of the individual and the community as well as promoting and maintaining public confidence and trust in the work of the Institute.

The purpose of this Code of Conduct and Ethics is to provide you with a framework for ethical decision making and to articulate the standards of behaviour and actions expected of individuals who work within the Cancer Institute Division. In this regard the Code explains the principles covering appropriate conduct in a variety of contexts and it serves to underpin how each of us are to deal with our colleagues, stakeholders, other organisations and the public.
