Nearly six in 10 women who had seen the ad indicated that it had an impact on their Pap test behaviour or intentions.

This research was undertaken to measure awareness, knowledge and attitudes towards cervical cancer and screening; the HPV vaccine; and to evaluate the impact of the NSW cervical screening campaign advertisement Don't Just Sit There - developed by the Cancer Council Victoria in 2004. The campaign was implemented in NSW from May to June 2007 using mass media to target women aged 30 years and over.
