Prostate Cancer in New South Wales

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in NSW and accounts for 17 per cent of all new cancers in persons and 31 per cent in males.

In 2005, prostate cancer was the most common registrable cancer diagnosis and the second most common cause of cancer death in males in New South Wales, accounting for 31% of all cancers in males and 13.9% of all cancer deaths in males. It is the third most common cause of cancer death after lung and bowel cancers.
