The Cancer Institute NSW manages two human research ethics committees that govern population health research and clinical trial activities in New South Wales.

Low and Negligible Risk (LNR) Applications

Researchers wishing to submit a LNR application to either the NSW Population & Health Services Research Ethics Committee, or the Clinical Research Ethics Committee, must first contact the Executive Officer on (02) 8374 5615, or use our online contact form to discuss your application's suitability.

Clinical trials research

Clinical Research Ethics Committee.

This committee reviews applications involving cancer clinical research for both multi-centre and, where required, single site cancer research.

Population health research

NSW Population & Health Services Research Ethics Committee

This committee has responsibility for ethical reviews of any research involving data and statistics held by NSW Health and the Institute.
