Cancer Institute NSW supports clinical trials by providing the funding for resources, infrastructure and personnel to trial units and research institutions across NSW.

2012

Cooperative Clinical Trial Grants

The Cooperative Clinical Trial (CCT) Grants have been designed to directly support the work of the Cooperative Clinical Trials Groups in NSW by providing funding for personnel to develop, implement and conduct a portfolio of competitive, high quality, well designed, public interest clinical trials that will create new knowledge and evidence to more rapidly drive improved cancer outcomes in NSW.

2011

Cancer Clinical Trials Staff Grants

A major initiative of the Cancer Institute NSW is the Cancer Clinical Trials Staff Grants.  These grants provide funding for up to 3 years, to employ Clinical Trial Staff including trial nurses; trial coordinators and data managers. These funded positions provide necessary infrastructure and flexibility, including workforce sharing for clinical trial units across a Local Health District, to support a portfolio of high quality cancer clinical trials.

The Clinical Trials Network Support Grants program aims to develop high quality cancer clinical trials in NSW, introduce and study new cancer treatments, increase participation rates in cancer trials and promote a culture of research and innovation in cancer services.

Clinical Trial Nurse/Data Manager

The Cancer Institute NSW supports the placement of trials nurses and data managers within cancer clinical trials units. This provides a dedicated hospital-based resource to support patients, their families and cancer specialists participating in clinical trials in NSW.
