The Cancer Institute NSW Sponsorship Initiative considers the provision of small grants to organisations which can advance the impact of cancer control and awareness in the NSW community. Consideration is given to proposals which address the following objectives:

Change or influence behaviours leading to better health outcomes – for example events or activities that are aimed at increasing awareness of cancer prevention and early detection of cancer, promote cancer-avoiding behaviours and foster the uptake of early detection programs.
Communicate cancer related health messages and associated support programs to the community generally and to specific targeted communities e.g. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities, and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Communities.
Increase awareness of the role of Cancer Institute NSW.
Attract significant positive media coverage related to awareness of cancer prevention, cancer treatment, early detection or cancer risk.

The Cancer Institute NSW Sponsorship Committee considers every submission it receives and will provide a written response to you within one calendar month of your submission. Funds are strictly limited and the Committee reserves the right to fund all, part or no part of your request.

Membership of Cancer Institute NSW Sponsorship Committee includes:

2. Chief Operating Officer
3. Director, Cancer Services and Education
4. Director, Cancer Prevention
5. Manager, Finance and Administration

In addition to the General Assessment Criteria of Section 3, the Committee will take into consideration other issues when assessing your submission, including but not limited to: reputation of the organisation or individual seeking sponsorship; potential for the sponsorship to add value to the reputation of the Cancer Institute NSW; cost versus relative merits/benefits of the activity; the ability of the organisation or individual to deliver the anticipated sponsorship benefits; extent to which success of the activity can be measured; and possible conflicts with other sponsored activities.

The Cancer Institute NSW will endeavour to provide advice regarding the outcome of your submission or acknowledgement of receipt of your submission within one calendar month of the date of your submission.
