Professor Turner, who has 25 years experience as a psychiatrist in oncology, will overview the development of psycho-oncology - the field concerned with the psychological, emotional and social needs of people with cancer and their families or carers.
She will explore the evidence about the efficacy of psychosocial interventions in cancer care and the challenges of demonstrating this efficacy in clinical settings, while competing for scarce health dollars.
Transport options: The best way to get to the ATP is via train to Redfern. Walk through platform 10, up the stairs and through Innovation Plaza to get to the Australian Technology Park. Parking will be available under the Channel 7 building and there are parking stations at the Channel 7 building where you will need to validate your parking tickets (do not validate parking tickets at the ATP)
