Prostate Cancer Outcomes Registry – NSW

Please note that the Prostate Cancer Outcomes Registry – NSW (PCOR-NSW) was formerly known as the NSW Prostate Clinical Cancer Registry (PCCR).

Your correspondence from the registry may reflect the former name. We apologise for the confusion this may cause and encourage you to contact us should you wish to discuss it further. This name change is necessary for improved alignment with other participating jurisdictions across Australia and New Zealand.

The Prostate Cancer Outcomes Registry – NSW (PCOR-NSW) is the NSW arm of the Prostate Cancer Outcomes Registry Australia and New Zealand; a national initiative funded in part by the Movember® Foundation to establish a clinical quality registry to improve health outcomes for men living with prostate cancer in Australia and New Zealand.

The Cancer Institute NSW has established the PCOR-NSW in partnership with the NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation.

The data collected helps to guide best clinical practices and processes, and improve quality of patient care in NSW.

Information collected by the PCOR-NSW will be used to monitor care provided, including treatment, complications and both short and longer term outcomes of care. This information will be used to help identify trends and discover whether gaps exist in service provision.

If you have been diagnosed with prostate cancer and have been approached to participate in the PCOR-NSW, we encourage you to get involved. Your contribution will help towards better understanding and managing prostate cancer disease and ensure men are receiving the best possible healthcare service both within NSW and across Australia.

If you would like to participate in the initiative or would like more information, please contact us.

We understand the diagnosis of prostate cancer has a big impact on men and their families, friends or carers. The PCOR-NSW does not have the skills or expertise to provide a specialised counselling service or give professional medical advice.

We encourage men to speak to their doctors if they are concerned about their diagnosis. They may also find the following support sites useful.
