PROMPT-Care

The PROMPT-Care pilot was a local initiative in South Western Sydney Local Health District and Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District, helping to support people living with cancer both during and after treatment.

PROMPT-Care stands for Patient Reported Outcome Measures for Personalised Treatment and Care.

This pilot project captured information about a patient’s symptoms, distress, quality of life and unmet needs, to inform and provide self-management tools and resources.

This empowered people to provide direct feedback on their care to their clinicians in real time, ultimately improving the care they receive.

The Cancer Institute NSW and BUPA Health Foundation funded the PROMPT-Care Pilot Project from 2013 - 2017 which was led by Professor Afaf Girgis from the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research.
