If Smoking was a Friend

Who produced this campaign?

Cancer Institute NSW

Campaign description

If Smoking was a Friend campaign challenged smokers to reflect on their relationship with their cigarettes. According to research, many smokers admit to regularly planning their day or who they spend time with around their cigarettes.

A sequence of identifiable situations exposes the extent to which a smoker's life is controlled by this addiction. A man holding a cigarette reflects on this relationship, realising that it will more than likely result in an inevitable health consequence.

If smoking was a friend, you'd want him out of your life.

Quit smoking support is available through the iCanQuit.com.au and the NSW Quitline (13 7848).
